Product Description of Direct Pigment Yellow 42 (CAS# 51274-00-1)

Pigment Yellow 42, also known as Yellow Iron Oxide, is a yellow powder composed of an alkaline oxide with relatively stable chemical properties. It is insoluble in water and alcohol, slightly soluble in acids, and completely soluble in concentrated hydrochloric acid. When heated to 80°C, it loses water and transforms into red ferric oxide.

This pigment is widely used in coatings, printing inks, and paints, as well as a coloring agent for building materials, rubber, and paper manufacturing. It is highly valued for its bright and pure color tone, excellent weather resistance, and high opacity, making it suitable for a broad range of industrial applications.

Pigment Yellow 42 is produced through the precipitation of ferric oxide hydroxide, followed by washing, drying, and milling purification processes to ensure consistent quality.
