Copper(II) Phthalocyanine CAS#147-14-8

  • Effective electron donor – Copper(II) phthalocyanine (CuPc) functions as an efficient electron donor when paired with fullerene-C60 or phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) in organic photovoltaics (OPV).

  • Proven photovoltaic performance – Using CuPc in OPV devices has demonstrated power conversion efficiencies of approximately 1%.

  • Enhanced efficiency with doping – The addition of pentacene to the CuPc layer can significantly improve efficiency, achieving up to 4% power conversion.

  • Versatile OPV application – CuPc can be used in vacuum-deposited OPV devices, highlighting its suitability for advanced organic solar cell technologies.

Product Details

Copper(II) Phthalocyanine #147-14-8

Copper(II) phthalocyanine, commonly referred to as CuPc, is used as an electron donor in combination with fullerene-C60 or phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) in vacuum-deposited organic photovoltaics (OPV). Power conversion efficiencies of approximately 1% have been achieved, which can be further increased to around 4% when using a pentacene-doped CuPc layer.
