Product Details

Product Description of SANDALORE (CAS No. 65113-99-7)

Sandalore is a synthetic sandalwood fragrance with an odor profile similar to natural sandalwood, and is therefore widely used in perfumes, emollients, and skin cleansing products. Together with the related compound brahmanol, it has been identified as an agonist of the cutaneous olfactory receptor OR2AT4 and has been shown to induce strong Ca²⁺ signaling in cultured human keratinocytes.

Long-term exposure of keratinocytes to Sandalore has been found to promote cell proliferation and migration, as well as enhance the regeneration of keratinocyte monolayers in in vitro wound scratch assays, suggesting improved epidermal wound-healing activity in human skin organ culture models. Notably, natural sandalwood oil and other synthetic sandalwood odorants do not exhibit the same biological effects.
